I am so happy to report that my dad is home. You might have seen on Monica's blog and she always puts things into perspective and says the right things. I'm happy to have him home and also am proud at what both my sister and Dad do for our country. Monica is also in the service and is leaving for Mississippi soon. She also takes time out of her daily life. I don't know what I would do if she left for months at a time. I hope it never comes to that. Anyway...yesterday was awesome. Grandma, Justy and I drove down to the base and soon after Monica and her lil' family showed up. We sat and waited and waited and waited and finally they opened the big doors so we could see them being escorted in. I think that's when I was filled with so much pride for my dad, seeing the HUGE plane with fire trucks and cop cars in front of it with their lights and sirens on. Then they opened the plane doors and I knew as soon as dad walked out it was him. He was the 2nd one out. I was so excited. It doesn't matter how many times he leaves it gets harder and harder the older we get. And I get more and more excited to see him home. I didn't realize how much he sacrificed for us when we were younger. He did what he had to do to support himself and his 3 kids, and he never once complained. If only I had kept every single T-shirt Dad has brought back from every place he's been. So he landed and we were all so COLD and very excited to see him. Justy especially. She was a little shy at first but warmed up soon after and they clung to eachother and were making fun of me and teasing me before we even hit the road home. :o( They are good at that! Justy woke up this morning and said she wanted to stay home from school again and go hang out with Grandpa. I thought that was pretty cute. Well enough of my rambling...God Bless America!

Security Erica! Security! *wink, wink*
Good post. It was a wonderful day and such a wonderful feeling to see that plane rolling down the runway. Can't wait to come home and have dad there. Love you lots!
Nice post and tribute to your dad and Monica! I filled with pride just reading your experience about him coming home.
That was a really nice tribute to your dad and to monica also. I am grateful to all who serve our country that way.
I'm glad he's safe and well. I have a lot of memories when we were younger of him leaving and you had some crazy babysitters! And when he was gone we could play 'prison' in the storage off of his bedroom :)
I'm glad he's finally home! Hopefully he will get to stay for a good long while! :) Miss all you guys!!!
